Mac and Linux Beta Release Progress Update

We were shooting for a late March or early April alpha release of OWM for Mac and Linux. Since that obviously hasn’t happened, we’re posting this update.

We were planning to get out a release with limited functionality. However, as we worked on it we realized that it’s easier to port everything at once.

So the bad news is, we won’t make it in time for an April release. The good news is, when the release is made, it will have most of the functionality of the current windows version of OWM. Instead of an alpha we’ll call this a beta release.

This release is still our top priority and the entire team is working hard on it. We are now planning the Mac Linux beta for the end of May.

Thank you all for your support and patience!

  2. Hello,

Was just wondering if you guys are planning to have people buy the Mac/Linux version separately? I would like to buy the Windows version and then switch to using the Mac version when it is released.

Also, I am a software developer at Apple so feel free to contact me if you need another beta tester.

Keep up the good work! OWP looks fantastic!

    Best,
    Blake

    1. Sorry for the late reply! And thank you for the comment!

One license will give you all three versions and you could use them all (i.e. a Mac Laptop and a Windows PC with the same license). Definitely won’t make you buy it twice šŸ™‚

And will do about beta testing! Thank you again!

  4. I am very interested in purchasing the product – though I use a Mac. I have access to windows boxes via VMware however I would prefer the native Mac app.

Would I be able to switch licenses to Mac once it is more robust?

  5. Any update on this?

Will I be able to get the expansion version when it comes out to Mac?

Also, if I bought a Windows version would I be able to download and use the Mac version?

  6. Hey Stephanie! New D&D dungeon master here, this program seems like a ton of fun. Is there any way I could “subscribe” for future notifications on the Mac/Linux official release? I’m one of those waiting for the conversion and I definitely don’t want to miss it.

    1. Sorry for the very late reply! šŸ™

Now that OSX is out of Beta we are aiming for late February for the first Linux release. It will either be a Beta release or a full release to match V0.9.5.

      Thank you!
