The roads in the screenshot are three connected segments.
It would be nice if crossroads would be recognized as it and are drawn differently; less clumsy.

What kind of thing are you looking for? Do you mean some kind of circle or mark at branch/crossroads points?

The thing that stands out to me in the posted image is that the dashed lines combine/overlap in a bad way, so you get one really long vertical dash at the intersection instead of maintaining a more consistent-looking pattern. Not sure whether that's the problem it was meant to illustrate, though.
