New Map: Unacceptable Character (no decimals)

Hi there!
When creating a new map and switching from pixels to inches for the map size, I noticed that I could not enter decimals for measurement in inches (i.e. 8.5). I got an error that read "Unacceptable Character - You can only type a number here."
I've included a screen shot below so you can see the actual error message. Thanks!
